Tour the Leinenkugel Brewery and Leinie Lodge
As the birthplace of the famous Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, touring the old brewery and grabbing a beer at the Leinie Lodge is a must-try during your time here. Starting operations in 1867, this brewery is a fantastic marker for the rich history that makes up both Chippewa County and the Leinenkugel’s brand. Schedule a legacy brewery tour to get your own look at the process of brewing delicious beverages and you can try a pint for yourself.
After your tour, make sure to visit the nearby Leinie Lodge, a lodge inspired by Jacob Leinenkugel’s own cabin, for more Leinenkugel’s drinks on tap. The Leinie Lodge is also home to the pilot brewery tour, where you get to taste new and innovative flavors while viewing the small-batch machinery used to create it. Whether you’re there to grab a drink or participate in pilot night, you and your friends will have a blast experiencing part of the magic of Chippewa County.

Go Fishing or Boating on Lake Wissota
Whether you plan to catch fish or just take in the views from your boat, the opportunities our nearly 450 lakes offer are endless. Lake Wissota is our largest lake, with approximately 6,300 acres of water available to explore and enjoy. Getting your boat onto the water is simple thanks to the many public boat launches throughout the area, allowing you to soak up the sun without worry. If you don’t have a boat of your own to bring, don’t fret! Wissota Waterfront Rentals is a pontoon and fishing boat rental service to allow you to experience the joys of the water without needing to haul your own pontoon over here. To get something more manual, the Lake Wissota State Park office offers canoe, kayak, and rowboat rentals for a low cost.
Fishing enthusiasts will love Lake Wissota’s wide variety of fish, including musky, walleye, catfish, lake sturgeon, and many more! You can fish from your boat or at locations along the coastline, including many spots on the connecting Chippewa River. Be sure to visit Blain’s Farm & Fleet to stay stocked up on bait, tackle, or any other fishing equipment you need to have a blast.
