It’s winter so there is no better time to sit back and relax. I like to do so at really any of the numerous coffee shops right here in our county. See the full list. I went to Whirlybird Coffee, this truly hidden gem has some of the best coffee in the area and is one of the cutest and most comfortable settings to craft.
Our pocket-sized adventure starts in downtown Chippewa Falls where we can pick out some yarn to crochet a new hot pad… riveting, I know. I decided to visit both String Theory Studio and Lagom to find the best variety and selection. Both stores are so different and unique. This is what makes me love Chippewa and all the great places to shop for anyone and everyone. I decided on a yarn from String Theory where they also have FREE YARN available, and then made my way to Whirlybird Coffee.
They always have incredible seasonal coffee options so I decided on the ‘Wink Wink’ which is a salted vanilla latte + pistachio cold foam + pistachio dust. It may have been one of the best coffee drinks I’ve ever had and for once in my life I’m not being dramatic. I’ll have to come back to try some of the others that sparked my interest (or I’ll just get my usual, The Sapling, hot or cold you can’t go wrong). I was hungry too so I got their soup of the day, Chicken Tortellini, also delicious. Then, I popped down into one of their chairs, sat by the fireplace surrounded by plants, and got to work. There was nowhere else I would rather be on this snowy afternoon.
Other craft ideas to do in your coffee shop of choice include watercolor painting, knitting, drawing, journaling, embroidering, and so much more. I hope this PSA sparks some interest for you and I can’t wait to continue exploring the County with you this year. Thanks for GOing along on this adventure!
