After a long Wisconsin winter, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of spring returning to Chippewa County. As the sunshine lingers a little longer each day, the area comes alive with outdoor adventures, local events, and scenic beauty.
Whether you’re looking to get outside, explore something new, or simply soak up the fresh air, here are 10 bucket list activities to add to your bucket list in Chippewa County!

1. Hit the Golf Course
Spring means the return of golf season! Grab your clubs, set off on one oof Chippewa County’s beautiful golf courses. Enjoy golf with a view at Lake Wissota Golf & Events. Located on the shore of Lake Wissota, this 18-hole course is the perfect spot to get some swings in. OJ Golf-Bowl-Grill is perfect spot for an afternoon round. Hit up this 9-hole course and enjoy a delicious lunch in their full service restaurant.

2. Take a Scenic Walk
Chippewa County is made up of many trials for walking and hiking. We are so blessed to be have a 23-mille section of Wisconsin’s Ice Age National Scenic Trail pass through the Chippewa County Forest. Take a stroll on these trails to experience beautiful forests and kettle lakes! Irvine Park is also home to over 300 acres of breathtaking views. One of our favorite trials is the Bluff Rapids Trail- you are able to walk right along Duncan Creek under a canopy of trees. It seriously doesn’t get better than that!

3. Go Fishing
Head out on the waterways of Chippewa County, where 449 lakes are calling. Starting May 2, fishing season opens across the county’s waterways, making it the perfect excuse to grab your gear and get outside. Whether you’re casting from shore, a dock, or a boat, it’s a great way to soak up the spring season.

4. Visit Leinenkugel’s Leinie Lodge
Spring is the unofficial kick-off to beer season, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a cold Leinenkugel’s in hand. Grab a seat on the patio, soak in the views of Duncan Creek, and enjoy the fresh spring air. While you’re there, consider taking a tour of the iconic Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company to learn about the brewing process and the rich history behind one of Chippewa Falls’ most beloved traditions.

5. Go Kayaking or Paddleboarding
Once the waters calm and the sun comes out, spring is the perfect time to get on the water. Kayaking or paddleboarding offers a peaceful way to experience Chippewa County from a whole new perspective. Lake Wissota, the largest lake in the county at more than 6,000 acres, offers endless opportunities for spring fun. Spend the day boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and more while taking in the beautiful scenery. Don’t have your own gear? No problem! Brunet Island State Park offers kayak rentals (including lifejackets), making it easy to get out and explore the water.

6. Discover Local Shops
Discover the charm of locally owned businesses in Chippewa County. For antiques lovers check out Collective Charm, a unique flea market style shop. With over 60 vendors, this is the perfect spot to find a new treasure. From jewelry to furniture, you will find it all here. 7. Play Pickleball
You won’t be in a pickle when looking for pickleball courts in Chippewa County. We have exceptional courts to play on and are excited to continue growing the number of courts! Head to the Lake Hallie Pickleball @ Gower Park for a friendly match, or Chippewa Falls Buchanan Park Pickleball Courts!

8. Pick out a Plant at Green Oasis Garden Center
New blooms means it is time to treat yourself with a new plant! With a full garden center, gift boutique, and outdoor services Green Oasis is the perfect spot to pick out yourself something new.

9. Grab a Cup of Joe
Coffee enthusiast? So are we! Visit our one-of-a-kind, locally owned coffeehouses where every drink is made from scratch by our skilled baristas. 10. Catch a Chippewa County Sunset
End the perfect spring day by finding a scenic spot to watch the sunset. Chippewa County is home to some truly beautiful sunset views. Head to Lake Wissota State Park to watch the sun dip below the horizon with beautiful lake views, or spend the evening at Riverfront Park. Take a stroll along the trails as the sun sets over the Chippewa River.
