Did you know you can check out a Wisconsin State Park pass, just like a library book?

Thanks to a partnership between the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Chippewa Falls Public Library, local residents can borrow a free daily vehicle admission pass to explore Wisconsin’s beautiful state parks and forests.
Through the Check Out Wisconsin State Parks at Your Library program, patrons can check out a pass along with an informational kit to help plan their visit. The initiative began in 2022 and continues in 2026, all with one goal in mind: making Wisconsin’s natural resources more accessible to everyone.

Here in Chippewa County, that means you can explore local favorites like Lake Wissota State Park and Brunet Island State Park without paying the daily vehicle admission fee.
Spend the day hiking scenic trails, enjoying a lakeside picnic, paddling the water, or simply soaking in the peaceful beauty of the outdoors, all at no cost to you!
