The Beauty of Fall
In northwest Wisconsin, fall is such an amazing time to live and to visit Chippewa County. Here’s what to love about it:
All things apples. Warm apple cinnamon donuts. Crisp apples from an orchard whether you picked them or the local grower did. Fresh squeezed apple cider. Wines produced from the local apple orchard. Tart apple pies or sliced apples dipped in warm caramel. The aroma of apples and the memorable taste of a wide variety of apples. Need I say more?
Sweater weather. You’ll fall in love with our cool crisp days. The sun is out warming your face. The wind is a bit on the chilly side but it’s the perfect opportunity to throw on your favorite sweater. Head to a Friday night football game, a Friday fish fry or the local park for a true fall experience.
Fall color tours. There is such an abundance of deciduous trees in our County that alert us that fall is here and traversing Chippewa County is a great way to spend your time. The brightest leaf colors are produced when days grow short and nights are cool but remain above freezing. Look for sugar maples, ash, white oak, aspen and birch for a full display of color. Check out our Fall Color page for some local fall color driving tours.
The outdoor experience. From savoring the fall inspired menus at the local restaurants to sipping the local craft beer, fall in Chippewa County is amazing. For all the reasons above and many more, you can have the best of the fall experience. Enjoy a campfire after you’ve parked your RV, relax to the sounds of area entertainers while partaking in your new favorite fruit wine, or relish the solitude of a hike through the forests or parks with nothing but the sounds of birds, crackling leaves under foot or your kids laughing.
