Yellowstone Art Trail

September 9 @ 9:00 am - September 10 @ 5:00 pm CDT

Free

The Eighth Annual Yellowstone Art Trail is a free self guided art tour consisting of 33 local artists at 11 locations displaying and selling artwork in their studios and participating businesses. We are fortunate to have the historical Yellowstone Trail, the transcontinental auto route that went right through these communities back in 1915-1930, winding its way through our towns (currently County Highway X), creating the route for the Yellowstone “Art” Trail. It was named “Yellowstone” to draw tourists along it to the national park, a favorite attraction of the time. The art trail includes Cadott, Boyd and the eastern Lake Wissota area of Chippewa Falls in Wisconsin and is set for Friday and Saturday, September 9th & 10th, 2022 from 9-5 both days.
Many dedicated artists call this area of Chippewa County their home, with its beautiful backdrop of rivers and lakes, parks and gardens, country farmland and welcoming neighborhoods. The Yellowstone Art Trail features artwork for all ages; men and women alike. It showcases the fine art and skills of wood craftsmen, metal sculptors, stain glass artists, plus handmade pottery, wool and fiber art, fine art drawings and paintings, handmade jewelry, basket weaving and much more. The artwork is original and handmade and many of the artists give demonstrations, educating the public on their craft.
Included in the art tour are historical places of interest, restaurants and specialty shops featuring locally made products. The historical ZCBJ Bohemian Lodge and the Cadott Area Historical Society are on the art trail and host several guest artists. Tourists that come to the Yellowstone Art Trail can get tours of these buildings and take in the history of this area. The Anson Methodist Church and the Village Scoop in Cadott, the English Lutheran Church of Bateman and the Lafayette Town Hall will also host guest artists, as well as several artists who will be in their own studios.
There will also be activities at some of our participating sponsors. The Bohemian Lodge will be selling their famous “kolaches” and the Autumn Harvest Winery will have their fall festival beginning on Saturday and running through Sunday. The English Lutheran Church of Bateman will have lunch for sale.
Brochures with maps are available identifying the artists along with a description of their art. You can pick one up at area businesses beginning in August, from the artists, or view it on our website: www.yellowstonearttrail.blogspot.com or on facebook. Each artist will be giving away one of their creations, so make sure to enter your name in a drawing at each location. Just grab a few friends, hop in your car and follow the bright yellow signs and sunflowers dotting the trail! We welcome you to experience the arts in our area.
