Chippewa County, Wisconsin: Local activities & entertainment
The Sign Song Dance Team is a performance group that includes deaf and hard of hearing high school students. These students travel throughout the region/state performing dance choreography and signing American Sign Language to music. After the 25-minute performance, there will be a question-and-answer time to allow the performers to teach hearing audiences about Deaf Culture and American Sign Language. An ASL interpreter and captioning will be provided. No cost for admission. Large groups must register with the Heyde Center office. Sponsored in part by Mayo Clinic Health Services and a Big Read Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
