My Name is America featuring Danville at Heyde Center for the Arts

Saturday, November 14 – lunch 12pm, show 1pm
In 2026, America marks its Bisesquicentennial—250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To honor this milestone, Danville—Tim and Kathy Danielson, joined by their son Joe and niece Elizabeth Kulus—presents an acoustic program that reflects on the nation’s past, present, and hopes for the future. The evening will weave together songs of liberty, justice, unity, and the ongoing pursuit of peace and freedom. Audiences will recognize beloved folk classics such as Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land” and “Deportee,” as well as Bob Dylan’s timeless calls for reflection and change in “The Times They Are A’Changin’” and “Blowin’ in the Wind.” The program also includes Peter Yarrow’s gentle “Day Is Done,” Paul Simon’s “American Tune,” Joe Jencks’ contemporary “Lady of the Harbor,” and the title song “My Name Is America,” written by singer/songwriter John Smith. Blending familiar melodies with newer voices in American songwriting, Danville offers more than a concert—it’s a thoughtful exploration of the American experience. Join us for an evening of stories and songs that remind us where we’ve been, what we’ve learned, and where we might be headed next.
