Universe in the Park includes a RAIN OR SHINE presentation on astronomy, including recent astronomical news, and a weather-dependent star party, where visitors have the opportunity to view available astronomical objects through a telescope.
This is a free, in-person event hosted by Lake Wissota State Park. The program will take place at the shelter between the two loops of the campground. No registration is necessary. With questions, please call the park office at 715-382-4574.
UitP is a program of the Department of Astronomy and UW Space Place. Presenter Andrew Nine is a fifth-year graduate student at UW-Madison. He studies interacting binary stars and the products of those interactions, using chemical fingerprints and computer models to reconstruct the histories of these fascinating systems.
