Rosemaling is a Norwegian form of folk art that has been around since the early 1700s. The revival of rosemaling in America is often credited to Per Lynse, born in Lærdal, Sogn, Norway and emigrated in 1907 to Stoughton, Wisconsin. Lois Mueller is a music-teacher-turned-rosemaler. She received the Vesterheim Gold Medal in rosemaling in 1998. Since that time, she has written nine rosemaling instruction books and taught in Canada, Taiwan, and throughout the United States. Join experienced artist Lois Mueller as she teaches this unique folk art workshop. She will get to know each student and their strengths and weaknesses with a variety of exercises. Once you get down the basics, you will be able to create a beautiful rosemaling piece. All supplies provided. Three-day class from 9am to 4pm. Please bring a sack lunch.
